DARIUS VS DELIRIOUS on "Bastille Day" for Matt Pro Wrestling
Darius Carter has made an incredible impact in the world of Matt Pro Wrestling.
At New Dawn 2024 on April 14, 2024 in Lakewood, NJ, “Wrestling’s Richest Prize” not only found a way to defeat Brett the Threat in a fantastic main event but found a way to raise the ire of former training partner, and Matt Pro Wrestling promoter, Ray Ray Marz.
Now, with Bastille Day in motion for July 14, 2024 at the Lakewood Estonian House, Carter has to deal with one of the most unorthodox veterans in the history of independent wrestling:
DELIRIOUS!!!!!!
Now, to the naked eye, this truly might seem like Delirious has the upper hand.
For starters, this man has eaten, slept, and breathed Ring Of Honor since it was Reborn back in 2004. Delirious had his major breakout year in 2006, winning Survival of the Fittest, and taking an immense group of performers to its limits, including Bryan Danielson, Nigel McGuinness, Roderick Strong, Austin Aries, and Adam Pearce.
Furthermore, Delirious’ abilities range deeper than the average wrestler. For over a decade, Delirious had trained aspiring future professional wrestlers inside the ROH Wrestling Academy in Bristol, PA. He also, in spite of his unique language barrier, has helped develop ROH’s 2010s with his immaculate, intense, and inspiring creative vision.
Delirious truly is a renaissance man in professional wrestling.
However, this battle will be more evenly matched than people realize. Carter has become, unofficially, the technical wizard of the tri-state area, competing against the grittiest and unorthodox that New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania have to offer. He is a two-time winner of the Super 8 Tournament and has held a plethora of heavyweight championships. Carter can get on the mat and grind with the best of them.
Furthermore, this match will come down, in my opinion, to the submission holds. Delirious has mastered the Cobra Stretch as a finishing hold, while Carter has utilized the Sleeper to immense success. If either man applies their move, it will be all she wrote for his opponent.
Bastille Day will be a day of great local wrestling. But will it be a day to celebrate Darius Carter’s glory? Or will it be the time to finally give Delirious his flowers?
