BANKIE'S HOT TAKE #71 - PROject codename: ASSEMBLE: A Metropolitan Wrestling Festival

Getting back into independent wrestling full borne, I love hearing stories about multiple independent promotions coming together to help each other grow and maximize their opportunities.

One of my all-time favorite independent wrestling moments is watching a Mike Morgan produced INDYMANIA back in 2011 and 2016. Seeing companies like ACE Pro Wrestling, New York Wrestling Connection, Women Superstars Uncensored, and several other promotions come together was a thrill. Diversity in pro wrestling, especially on the indies, is a must.

So when I saw Geek Time Entertainment, under their PROject codename promotion, bring together ASSEMBLE this Saturday night at the Brick VFW, 373 Adamston Rd in Brick, NJ, I smiled.

Look at this card, full of young and ambitious wrestlers and promotions come together for one common goal:

- SSW No Limits Title Match

"Cheap Wrestler" Matt Rivera (c) vs. Joe Clean

- Belle 2 Bell Showcase

Salem vs. Stevie Brooks

- IWA Breakthrough Divison Title ~ Bullrope Match

Jayden Stehle (c) vs. Brandon Downey

- LTW Heavyweight Title Match

Bonifer (c) vs. Clarke Williams vs. Gűnnar

- SWF Live Showcase

The Shot Callers (Jay Evans & Flash Carter) vs. Marshall Law (Sgt. Valentine & Dr. Hilary P. Wisdom) w/ George Marshall

- SWF vs. #thePROject Challenge

SWF Tag Team Champion Walter Diaz vs. Kris Kage

- PROject codename: WRESTLING Showcase

Ghost Shadow vs. Smiley

- ISPW Showcase

Joey Ace vs. ISPW Tag Team Champion Vik Dalishus

- WOW No Limits Title ~ Six Way Match

Eroc (c) vs. Roger Mendez vs. Dexter vs. Max Bane vs. Mike Datello vs. Danny Storm

- Interpromotional Rumble

Featuring Stars from:

SSW, SAW, PWAD, LTW, thePROject, IWA, ISPW, SWF Live, FYW, B2B, & UWA Elite!

Knowing some of the talent (Walter Diaz [Shoutout to the old Middle East Connection], Jay Evans from Gen Pro Wrestling, Joey Ace, JOE CLEAN from AXW), as well as fun local promotions like SWF, Warriors of Wrestling, and the underrated UWA Elite, this is enticing.

If you are interested in the future of independent wrestling, as well as the ever-evolving Metropolitan independent wrestling scene, PROject codename: ASSEMBLE is the show for you.

Support independent wrestling. You'll be happy you did.
