A wonderful crowd at the Meadowlands YMCA in East Rutherford, NJ came out to enjoy Pro Wrestling Magic “Fuel”. Loads of moments and fantastic wrestling took place on this night as the Magic Kingdom settled into its new home.
Before the official event began, two matches were filmed for Monday Morning Magic:
Tommy Heartfelt vs Wild Flower and Jonathan Bane: Bounty Hunter against Bean Dip Dazza. The contests are a part of the New Talent Initiative Tournament, in which the ultimate winner of the Tournament will receive a shot at the PWM Dark Arts Championship. These contests will be on YouTube tomorrow morning.
The show opened with “Power Punch” Vinny Pacifico facing off with Chris Benne, a bruiser from New York City looking to make an impact in the Magic Kingdom. In spite of a strong performance, including an awesome Final Cut, by Benne, his arrogance cost him at the end of the day, as Pacifico leveled him with a knockout blow for a three-count victory.
PWM Junior Heavyweight Champion Eden, accompanied by PWM Co-Owner and leader of El Pacto Diabolico Mateo Marcelos, made his way to the ring for his Open Challenge, or as he described it, his Sacrifice. Out came a newcomer to Magic: Johnny Vega, a performer from Eden’s past. In typical EPD fashion, Eden jumped Vega at the bell, but the fight turned into a Junior Heavyweight demolition derby with both men beating the Hell out of each other. However, Eden caught Vega with the vicious Rings of Saturn and got the tap-out with a vicious stretch.
PWM Women’s Champion “The Cotton Candy Princess” Tiffany Avatar came out to defend her gold against the very talented Emily Jaye and aggressive Elle Valentine. After Jaye left the ring, Avatar and Valentine went to battle over Magic’s most prestigious prize. Jaye then began to employ the “intrusive, yet elusive” strategy and picked her moments to attempt a victory, but eventually got pulled into the fight figuratively and literally. Once she was put down, Avatar caught Valentine with a Spear and got the three-count to retain the championship.
In a rare occurrence, “The Allfather” Darius Carter defended his Keys To The Kingdom against “the New Face of Chaos” Smiley. The winner would be guaranteed to have an opportunity at the PWM Heavyweight Championship. Both men brawled all around the arena floor, including Smiley countering Carter’s attempt and suplexing him on the entranceway. Following Carter slowing down the pace, picking apart Smiley like a surgeon, the wild masked man came back from the depths of despair and put on a valiant effort. At the tail end, while the referee was distracted, Carter jabbed Smiley in the throat with the illustrious Key. One Royal Sweep later, and Mr. Carter retained his rights to a Heavyweight Title shot.
The Sons of Old School, Dan Murdoch & Steve Off, prepared to get back on the winning side of the column against the cocky and braggadocious team of Buddy Tomas & Drew Marston. The East Coast Kliq performed at their absolute best, including an awesome sequence with “Mary Poppins” (the fans at Magic are brilliant) Tomas catching Off with a DDT after ducking a leapfrog. However, the Sons of Old School displayed a plethora of brand new tag team maneuvers. At the end of the match, Murdoch again nailed the All-American Knockout to Tomas for the victory. The lingering for Murdoch’s dream match for Jay Lethal continues to build.
In a Teacher vs Student match for the PWM Dark Arts Championship, the World Famous Cheeseburger faced off with champion Mateo Marcelos. The match immediately broke down into a street fight, with no stone unturned and no weapon held down. Cookie sheets, STOP signs, chairs, a staple gun, trash cans, and a WALKER were utilized to its fullest capabilities. Cheeseburger almost WON the championship after neutralizing both Marcelos and Eden, and leveling the leader of EPD with a Shotei. In the end though, Marcelos persevered, putting his trainer through FOUR CHAIRS with a snapmare off the turnbuckles for the victory!!!!!
The PWM Tag Team Championships were on the line, as the ReVolVer’s Chamber of Lugosi & Downey defended against former titleholders Nate Wallace & Dave McCall of the Rep. Cady was by the door for this one, as both teams had one goal in mind: to maim and destroy their way to either regain or retain the gold. The Rep controlled the early going, but Downey kept fighting to survive. Lugosi became the proverbial house of fire, but was extinguished relatively quickly by the bruising challengers. After more domination by the Rep, Downey surprised McCall with a schoolboy roll-up, leaning his weight. Three slaps of the mat later, and the Chamber RETAIN the Tag Team Titles!
To say the main event for the PWM Heavyweight Championship was one of the biggest matches in the history of the Magic Kingdom, that would be an understatement. “The Good Guy” and champion Azrieal faced off with the longest reigning champion in Magic history, “the ReVolVer” Alex Reiman. This match lived up to the hype. Both men left it all in the ring. However, Azrieal locked on an Achilles Lock, while grasping Reiman’s hand by the ropes. Reiman had no choice but to tap out.
Then, with the fans still in shock over Reiman’s defeat, Darius Carter made his way to ringside, making everyone think he was going to cash in his Keys To The Kingdom for an impromptu title match against Az. Thankfully, Carter skedaddled, but the eyes of the “Allfather” are on the prize.
The event is available FOR FREE on YouTube - but from this writer’s opinion, you need to make it to the Meadowlands YMCA for a Magic event. Something’s brewing here…
