OCTOBER IS INDEPENDENT WRESTLING MONTH on UNFILTERED
When I do UNFILTERED episodes, I normally try to find a topic the day of recording and give a one-take rant. Honestly, it has rejuvenated my love of podcasting and, more importantly, instituted the video content for the HQ YouTube channel weekly.
However, in the month of May, we structured a themed month called NICKELODEON 90s, which allowed me to live in my childhood and discuss the greatness of “the first channel made for kids”. I thoroughly enjoyed doing it, especially the Stick Stickly episode.
So with the month of October coming up, I figured I would go back to the well once again.
OCTOBER IS INDEPENDENT WRESTLING MONTH ON UNFILTERED.
However, the theme will be time periods of wrestling I was involved in. I truly feel that over the past decade, the Northeast indie wrestling scene and stories have faded into obscurity. I have been a part of some interesting promotions over my run, and I feel like it’s about time to bring light back to the past in the sport of kings in specific timelines.
OCTOBER 3: ACE 2010-2011
OCTOBER 10: BWO 2010
OCTOBER 17: NWA ON FIRE 2011
OCTOBER 24: WSU 2011-2012
OCTOBER 31: BEYOND WRESTLING 2011-2012
This will be a blast to record and give some stories about. Mike Morgan, Richie Rotten & Preacher, the Savoldi family, Sean “the MiC” McCaffrey, and Drew Cordeiro brought some fantastic times to me in pro wrestling, and it’s time to bring some light during these times. This is the “golden age” for me of the Northeast indie scene, and I hope you join me and enjoy this time capsule to the past.
