BANKIE'S HOT TAKE #98 - Ace Romero Starting the Road to 2nd Vacationland Cup Victory
Ace Romero might very well be the face of Limitless Wrestling.
The hoss from Saco, ME has been an independent wrestling staple in the Northeast for over a decade. His hybrid style of power and agility has brought him to numerous high-profile promotions, like IMPACT Wrestling, MLW, CZW, and Chaotic Wrestling, but Limitless truly has become Romero’s home base.
Romero has proven himself against all comers in Limitless over the years. He legitimately was in the first main event of the promotion against Alex Mason on September 12, 2015. He has gained the respect of his fans and peers for his headstrong and never-give-up demeanor. He truly is the OG of the promotion.
Now, heading into the Summer of 2024, Romero is looking to establish dominance once again, as he vies to become only the second two-time winner of the Vacationland Cup.

The Vacationland Cup Tournament has been an annual showcase for Limitless since 2018. There are four first-round qualifying matches, and the finals is a four-way elimination match, where the last man standing is the winner. It’s a smaller, yet more fast paced version of the ROH Survival of the Fittest Tournament.
JT Dunn won the inaugural VLC, defeating The DangerKid, future EVOLVE Champion Josh Briggs, and Christian Casanova, who you might know now as WWE Superstar Carmelo Hayes on July 27, 2018.
Other winners over the years include the aforementioned Casanova in 2020, Channing Thomas last year, Anthony Greene twice in 2019 and 2021, and Mr. Romero in 2022.
On August 27, 2022, Romero would not be denied, as he single-handedly dominated everyone in his sights, defeating BEEF in the first round qualifier, and overcoming Charles Mason, Thomas, and Rip Byson in the finals.
One month later at Chasing Forever on September 24, Romero defeated Alec Price to become Limitless Champion. The momentum from the Vacationland Cup win led the Limitless OG to greatness.

Now, Romero is looking to reestablish dominance in the Limitless ring. After defeating Hazard, Sami Callihan, and Joey Janela at recent Limitless events throughout 2024, the Hoss from Maine has been given a VLC qualifier match for No Debate on May 18 at the Yarmouth AmVets in Yarmouth, ME against Aiden Aggro.
Aggro has primarily been recognized as a tag team specialist alongside The DangerKid in MSP, winning tag team championships across the independent circuit, including holding the Chaotic Wrestling Tag Titles three times. However, the incredibly talented Aggro is looking to break through into singles competition in Limitless, and after defeating The DangerKid in an unsanctioned match in January, what better way to make an impact than to beat the double tough Romero?
In fact, to add even more fuel to the fire, last month at Guilty Pleasures, after a heated in-ring confrontation, Aggro and his advisor J-Heru attacked Romero backstage during an interview segment.
This match is not to be missed. Tickets are on sale at http://LimitlessWrestling.com and will be streaming live on http://IndependentWrestling.tv at 7:30.
Needless to say, Aggro might have a new attitude, but he might’ve entered a new season of his career: #BIGBOYSZN. And in this season, Aggro might be forced to take a detour on Ace Romero’s road back to the Vacationland Cup.
