The relationship with Pro Wrestling Magic and the Meadowlands YMCA has been blooming beautifully.
After making the YMCA its new permanent home back in December for Kingdom Come X, it was only a matter of time until Steve Off’s dream became a reality.
Back in September 2025, the PWM Founder stated that he had a dream of beginning a wrestling school, in conjunction with the YMCA.
Well, it took a few months, but in February 2026, the dream became reality. The PWM Wrestling School began, with Steve running the Beginners Class every Monday and current PWM Heavyweight Champion, and independent wrestling legend, Azrieal running the Advanced class on Wednesdays.
I stopped up for the Wednesday class with Azrieal. For the first time in a very long time, I was watching a training class, and let me tell you: Azrieal is a cardio machine.
For a half hour, “the Good Guy” worked over a bunch of students with various calisthenics. Push-ups, burpees, hindu squats, high knees, and old school squats were the order of the day. The best part? The wily veteran was barely breathing hard.
Then, the drills began.
There were no ropes on the ring. Jokingly, I asked if it was Bloodsport tonight, but in truth, it was because it was drill day.
Az began showing off some simple, but excruciating drills, attempting to help the students master them. It really was impressive to see a veteran so giving with his time; patient while enforcing the technique. Great coaching, from my point of view.
On the other side, Mateo Marcelos continued working on the grappling and proper technique. Again, patient and very giving of his time.
If you are an aspiring wrestler, these are the classes for you. You learn and you aspire to want more. And, by seeing some of the students, it helps the stamina and endurance tenfold.
