Back at Thunderstruck on January 9, 2026 at the Mantoloking Playhouse in Mantoloking, NJ, there was a major “no-no” moment that transpired inside of a Matt Pro Wrestling ring.
It was the debut of “the Mythical Beast” Rex Griffyn, as the masked performer went into a three-way dance against Mark “the Shark” Garofolo and Mikey Midnight.
Following a Garofolo victory, Mateo Marcelos, leader of El Pacto Diabolico, wanted “the Shark’s” loyalty to join the faction and be an ally. Garofolo agreed and, in his debut match, took the mask off of Griffyn and handed it to Marcelos!
That is the ultimate disrespect to a competitor.
Griffyn was exposed legitimately. As it turned out, he was a referee for various Matt Pro Wrestling matches, and wanted to ease his way into becoming a wrestler for the promotion. “The Shark” ruined that for him.
Now, the man behind the mask, RYAN RAGNAROK, makes his debut as a Matt Pro fighter to face “the Shark” at Runnin’ Wild this Sunday at the Lakewood Estonian House in Lakewood, NJ.
Ragnarok has a cult vibe about him from days-gone-by. He has wrestled anywhere and everywhere in the South Jersey region. He loves this business and will put his body on the line for his craft and a victory.
Meanwhile, Garofolo now has EPD backing, headed by Mateo. “The Shark” is land muscle, but he has lack of worry, knowing that he has a diabolical faction making sure nothing happens.
Be there live at the Estonian House in Lakewood this Sunday. This will be an old-fashioned fist fight. You don’t disrespect the traditions of the business,
Bankie Bruce
