DARIUS CARTER VS AZRIEAL: Big Fight Feel for PWM 3/21/26

In this modern age of independent wrestling, the term “Big Fight Feel” doesn’t get utilized as much. Some say simply that it comes across as “overhype”.

On March 21, 2026 at the Meadowlands YMCA in East Rutherford, NJ, minutes from Metlife Stadium, Pro Wrestling Magic is bringing Part 1 of the “11 Years of Magic” with their Whiskey In The Jar event. And the main event that night is the personification of “Big Fight Feel”.

PWM Heavyweight Champion Azrieal will be defending his title against the winner of the 2026 Chad Adams Memorial Rumble, and holder of the Keys To The Kingdom, “the Allfather” Darius Carter!

To understand how deep this match goes, you have to go all the way back to July 10, 2010.

Darius grew up as a huge fan of Azrieal. A student of the game, Darius studied all types of pro wrestling, particularly Ring Of Honor. One of Darius’ all-time favorite performers was “the Good Guy”, particularly relating back to a Four Corner Survival on June 18, 2005 in Morristown, NJ, where Az, in a losing effort, stole the show against three of ROH’s best - Nigel McGuinness, James Gibson, and Homicide. Az’s grit and toughness on DVD caught Darius’s eye.

On July 10, 2010, Darius, already a year into the wrestling industry as a performer, showed up at an ACE Pro Wrestling event, on his birthday, to see Azrieal in a big time grudge tag team match, alongside Mike Donovan, against the legend Crowbar and Bandido Jr, who would wind up becoming WWE Referee Eddie Orengo.

Azrieal, in Darius’ eyes, stole the show yet again due to his performance in between the ropes. It was that day the future “Allfather” knew that, when the time was right, he would face “the Good Guy” in a big-time match.

Over a decade later in an ACE ring, Darius would do just that, defending his Diamond Division Championship against Az, now an elder statesman in the tri-state independent scene, at ACE AWAKEN in the Fall of 2021.

In a fantastic encounter, Carter pinned Azrieal after a Royal Sweep, following his patented Sleeper. Darius’ dream had come true.

Yet, the story did not end there.

Carter jumped off this victory to have one of independent wrestling’s most underrated runs of all time. A two-time Super 8 Champion, countless Heavyweight Title wins for multiple promotions, and facing a “who’s who” of superstar quality opponents.

Azrieal, in turn, rededicated himself to becoming the best in Pro Wrestling Magic. “The Good Guy” entered the company in 2022 and became an even better performer, winning EVERY championship that PWM had to offer. Tag Team Champions with Trey Felipe, Dark Arts Champion, Junior Heavyweight Champion, and, at Kingdom Come X in December 2025, World Heavyweight Champion.

In a way, that match in 2021 truly motivated both men to be better than who they were. Both men are now at the peak of their abilities with no signs of slowing down.

Now, on March 21, 2026, at Whiskey In The Jar, both men are prepared to do battle for Azrieal’s Heavyweight Title. This might arguably be Pro Wrestling Magic’s biggest main event of all-time.

This match has history, talent, and the Magic Kingdom’s full attention.

Dare I say, Darius Carter vs Azrieal has a BIG FIGHT FEEL. Don’t miss this one. You’ll regret it.
