The Lakewood Estonian Club in Lakewood, NJ hosted the first round of the Matt Pro Wrestling Heavyweight and Tag Team Championship Tournaments on February 2, 2025 for Groundhog Day Gold Rush.

NOTES:
“Rad Dad” Radley Belmont advanced to both the semi-finals of the Heavyweight and Tag Team Tournaments.
After his performance in the Gold Rush Gauntlet back at Harvest Moon in October 2024, Belmont had a lot of eyes on him from the MPW faithful. In the tag team match against Mistretta and Marcelos, Belmont took a nasty spill on the floor, injuring his neck. Then, in the singles four-way, he suffered another attack, this time at the hands of the Mod Squad’s Maertens. However, Belmont persevered and won this match as well. Can Belmont overcome the odds and not only advance in the Heavyweight Title Tournament, but advance to Tag gold alongside his fellow “Stepdad” Wade Krueger?
Darius Carter has serious issues with MPW management.
The 2022 and 2024 Super 8 Champion refuses to be placed into a tournament to become MPW Heavyweight Championship, thanks to, in his mind, his undefeated record. The issues are so deep that “Wrestling’s Richest Prize” refused to wrestle against Elijah Eden. However, according to MPW’s X page, Carter actually attacked Eden backstage following his open challenge against Justin Vane. MPW Promoter Ray Ray Marz is beyond frustrated with his long-time rival.
