MARCUS MATHERS COMES TO FIGHT FOR WOW HEAVYWEIGHT GOLD VS MIKE DATELLO 5/9/26

From his first Super Championship in the Intergender Bonanza to becoming a world traveler and a WWE ID deal underneath his arm, Mathers’ grit, hard work, and talent really has become an inspiration to aspiring independent wrestlers.

Now, the second generation “Philly’s Finest” is preparing to take gold on May 9/

Marcus Mathers comes to the St. Peter Catholic Academy in Staten Island, NY to get a shot at the Warriors of Wrestling Heavyweight Championship against champion Mike Datello!

Primarily a tag team specialist as a member of the Rise, the New York based Datello, a three time former WOW Tag Team and No Limits Champion, shocked the entire Warriors of Wrestling organization by beating the incredibly talented Roger Mendez for the WOW Heavyweight Championship on December 6, 2025.

Still embroiled in a personal rivalry with Mendez, Datello is going to have to shift gears to go against one of wrestling’s premier speedsters in Mathers. It is going to be full speed ahead on May 9.

The ultimate strength for Datello will be the fact that this very important match will be taking place in his home-borough in Staten Island. That hometown enthusiasm will be extra important for Datello to make a successful defense.

It will be cady-by-the-door at the St. Peter Catholic Academy on May 9. Mathers vs Datello. Who will walk out with the WOW Heavyweight Title? Be there live and watch some great Warriors action.
