One of the more unique events in the long, illustrious history of the East Coast Wrestling Association has been Pretzelmania.
Mind my aloofness, but not knowing that there was ever an event dedicated to pretzels, especially an annual one that is coming up on their EIGHTH installment, prior to today is total shame on me.
Well, on May 2, 2026, in Marlboro, NJ, one of the more outrageous matches of all time will be transpiring.
ECWA President and former Tag Team Champion Cheyenne Ortiz will be going one-on-one with King Reginald in a Pretzel Deathmatch!
That's right, a PRETZEL Deathmatch.

King Reginald, the One True King of the ECWA, has been on a reign of tyranny for quite some time now. Alongside his cohorts in crime Mozart Fontaine and the legendary Mr. Ooh La La, whom the monarch officially crowned as the ECWA Legends Tag Team Champions a few weeks ago, Reginald has been a thorn in everybody's side...
Especially the ECWA President.
Cheyenne Ortiz has done his absolute best to try and control the maniacal "ruler" over the past few years. However, it all came down to last week, when Reginald challenged "the Voice" to the mother of all hardcore matches: a Pretzel Deathmatch.
Cheyenne quickly accepted, and almost just as fast, began preparing for his war by going to the grocery store and making purchases of all different types of the salty breaded delicacy.
Let's not kid ourselves. The King is a methodical, rule breaking performer. He does not care about offending anyone, nor does he care about how he gains a victory for the winner's purse. The man is a deplorable, yet successful wrestler.
Cheyenne, although competing in some matches over the past few months, including a reign as ECWA Tag Team Champions, isn't a full-time performer. However, he does have a never-say-die attitude and seemingly fears no man.
Now, we head towards May 2 in Marlboro. Can the detestable King finally vanquish the one man who stands in his way to true power over the ECWA? Will Cheyenne lay down the figurative law on this corrupt King?
Most importantly, what will be the long lasting damage done to these two men once they land on a variety of delicious salted snacks? It could be a bloodbath.
After all, it IS PretzelMania VIII!
