It was officially announced that a match nearly twenty years in the making will finally be taking place.

At Pro Wrestling Magic’s Kingdom Come X: Christmas Vacation on December 20, 2025 at the Mecca in Ridgefield Park, NJ, “the American Outlaw” Dan Murdoch will be going one-on-one with current AEW star and ROH Grand Slam Champion JAY LETHAL!

To say that this match was a surprise to Murdoch was an understatement. New Magic co-owner, and otherwise vile creature, Mateo Marcelos made the match following Murdoch’s loss in an impromptu fatal-four way match at The Hangover on September 20.

For the past few weeks via social media, Murdoch has been shedding his proverbial skin, finally putting away his past, and beginning his focus towards this battle.

However, this past Thursday, in his blog on The Culture Cram, “the American Outlaw” really shed some light on his initial feelings, including his disbelief that Marcelos, his rival, would provide him with this opportunity. However, in Murdoch’s own words, he “[doesn’t know] exactly what game Mateo is playing, but [he’s] willing to go along with it.”

Why is this match so important to Murdoch? Lethal was his trainer to enter the sport of wrestling via the ACE Wrestling Academy in Union City, NJ!

Over the next few weeks, we will cover “the American Outlaw’s” views as he heads into the squared circle with the man that started his career. Certainly, for those that are massive Northern New Jersey wrestling fans, this will be a journey to a match you will never forget.

Stay tuned to the Hot Take for the latest updates regarding this encounter.
