This is the place where an entire universe revolves around.

This is the place where certain employees weren’t even supposed to be there today.

This is the place where multiple movies were filmed.

This is the place where many independent filmmakers and fans travel towards to get inspired.

This is a place where many locals shop.

This is a place of New Jersey lore.

This is a place that is special to so many.

This is more than just a place; this is hallowed ground.

Whenever I get down, depressed, angsty, or in need of inspiration, I always go to the Quick Stop in Leonardo, NJ, mere moments off of Rt.36, heading towards either Sandy Hook or Long Branch.

I was 8 years old when Kevin Smith made Clerks. However, almost a decade later, when Matt Palaski showed me the film on its tenth anniversary DVD, I was hooked.

Since then, I always found a way to make a trip towards the Ocean County convenience store and always make the same purchase: Hostess Orange Cupcakes and a Lemon Snapple. For me, it’s tradition.

I know so many people are diehard Jay and Silent Bob fans, and they prefer to take the trek to Red Bank and The Secret Stash. But for me, the Quick Stop is the preferred pilgrimage.

As I near age 40, there are certain places that hold a near-and-dear place in my heart. I truly hope it lasts the test of time.

Thank you, Quick Stop.
