Name: Tough Tim Hughes

Inducted: May 10, 2026

Best Known For: Being the sidekick on the Hardway Podcast

There would be no Hardway HQ without Tough Tim Hughes.

Tim initially came into my life in 2010, when he began his training at the ACE Wrestling Academy. Quickly, Tim and I bonded over a plethora of different things including the Mets, comedy, and pro wrestling.

When I started the Hardway Podcast on September 14, 2011, Tim was my biggest supporter. It started off fine, but by Episode 30, I ran flush into a rut.

Tim came on as the sidekick of the show, but quickly, it became a collaboration. We were teammates.

Thanks to the podcast, we were able to do a lot of things. We did a live episode at ACE Crossroads VIII in 2012. We translated our podcast bickering into a mini-rivalry at Beyond Wrestling. Heck, we even made side-bets on the show that led to a lot of creativity, including the infamous Dan Murdoch t-shirt bet and the debut of Master H 2.

The moment I knew Tim was all in was when we got a table for the podcast at the inaugural WrestleCon during WrestleMania weekend in 2013. Tim innovatively got QR Code labels for our demo CDs leading to the website. He helped orchestrate getting us free Hardway t-shirts to give away to people who could beat him in air hockey. We interviewed the Boogeyman, used a certain Wyatt Sicks member to rib Fredo Majors, and celebrated when he beat Jim “the Anvil” Neidhart in air hockey.

We kept everything up until 2014. I began Hardway HQ, and Tim got really busy with professional wrestling, traveling with “Brutal” Bob Evans as Tough Guy Inc. We did find time to make a little fun with the Universal Air Hockey League of the Universe, but it was short lived.

In 2018, Project: Diverge ran an eight-man tournament, and there was no one I wanted more for this show than Tim. He might not have won, but he stole the show with his antics alongside Wildman Kongo. “Old School’s Cool.”

Over the past several years, there has been no one more supportive and respectful of what Hardway HQ was, is, and will be other than him. However, when it comes down to it, if it wasn’t for him, this would never exist.

Congrats to “Tough” Tim Hughes for his Hardway HQ Hall of Fame induction. There’s been no one more deserving of this honor.
